Since 1955, Pearson Electronics has specialised in the design and manufacture of precision wide-band current transformers and current monitors. Founded by Dr. Paul Pearson, the inventor of the precision wide-band current transformer, the company has built a strong reputation for accurate measurement of fast pulses, transients and complex AC waveforms across a wide range of applications.
Pearson’s products are used wherever accurate, high-speed current measurement is critical – from particle accelerators and plasma research to power electronics, EMI testing, medical equipment and lightning research.
They develop current monitors capable of measuring signals ranging from microamps to kiloamps, with frequency coverage extending from below 1 Hz to hundreds of MHz depending on the model. Its range includes wide-band current monitors, clamp-on current transformers, custom current monitors, coaxial current monitors and capacitive voltage dividers.

Alongside current measurement, Pearson specialises in high-voltage pulse transformers, with designs capable of producing pulse outputs from 100 kV to 500 kV and pulse lengths from 0.25 to 50 microseconds. These are used in applications including high-power microwave systems and other high-voltage pulsed-power environments.
Pearson also offers custom current-monitor solutions, allowing its engineering team to develop transformers around specific mechanical, electrical and measurement requirements rather than limiting customers to standard configurations.
