Versatile Link – RedLink® Simplex Friction Plugs
Supplier: Firecomms
Technology type: Fibre Optic Cables, Connectors and Assemblies
The Firecomms 2.2 mm simplex friction plug is crimped directly to the 1 mm POF cable providing a good retention force. A plug version with a rubber seal is available for installation in applications where conformal coatings or potting compounds are in use.
Simple installation using industry standard tools. By following four easy steps, the plus can be fitted by electrical engineer without special training in optics:
- Strip jacket from cable using Firecomms POF cutter (PC-220F-410)
- Insert stripped POF into connector plug
- Crimp the plug onto the cable using crimp tool (FF-HTCRMP-1)
- Polish the fiber using polishing disc and paper (two steps, grit grades).
