The FG132 5G RedCap M.2 module is designed for connected equipment that needs more bandwidth than low-rate IoT technologies without the complexity of a full enhanced mobile broadband solution. It supports 3GPP Release 17 RedCap technology and operates on 5G Standalone networks with LTE backward compatibility. Two variants are available: the FG132 M.2-GL for global deployments and the FG132 M.2-CN for China. Typical use cases include industrial gateways, security and surveillance equipment, vehicle connectivity, energy systems, industrial routers, fixed wireless access terminals and connected cameras. Support for private 5G networks and network slicing helps address managed industrial and enterprise environments. Drivers are available for Windows, Linux and Android hosts. The standard M.2 pin layout supports integration into established hardware platforms. Engineers should select the appropriate variant based on regional bands, dimensions, approvals and target mobile network.

FAQs
for FG132 5G RedCap M.2 module
The module supports 5G NR Standalone operation. Non-Standalone operation is not listed, while LTE backward compatibility is provided for deployments that require 4G coverage.
The FG132 M.2-GL is intended for global frequency-band coverage, while the FG132 M.2-CN is designed for China. They also use different card dimensions, so both regional compatibility and mechanical clearance should be checked.
The listed 5G SA Sub-6 peak rates are 223 Mbps downlink and 123 Mbps uplink with 256QAM. LTE peak rates are 195 Mbps downlink and 75 Mbps uplink with 256QAM, although real-world throughput depends on network conditions, configuration and operator service.
Yes. LTE backward compatibility is provided, with supported LTE bands depending on the selected GL or CN variant.
Both variants provide 1 × USB 2.0 and support UART, GPIO, PCM, I2C and PCIe. SPI, ADC, I2S and SGMII are not listed as available.
Yes. Both M.2 variants list two SIM interfaces, allowing suitable host designs to implement dual-SIM functionality.
Driver support is listed for Windows, Linux and Android. The required driver version and platform compatibility should still be verified during system design.
Yes. GNSS and DFOTA are supported. Engineers should still confirm available GNSS functions, antenna design and firmware update workflow for the selected firmware and host platform.
The module supports 5G SA operation and is intended to address private-network and network-slicing requirements. Successful deployment will also depend on network configuration, spectrum, SIM provisioning, firmware and host integration.
The normal operating range is -35°C to +75°C, with an extended range of -40°C to +85°C. Equipment design should account for enclosure temperature, airflow, power dissipation and any restrictions that may apply outside the normal range.
