MPT-50 Camera System

The MPT-50 is a versatile surveillance system built for critical medium-range observation tasks. It integrates a cooled mid-wave infrared thermal imager alongside a high-resolution day/night camera, each with continuous zoom optics for long-distance monitoring. This dual-sensor arrangement supports reliable target detection and identification in both daylight and darkness. The pan-tilt positioner delivers repeatable pointing accuracy of about 0.05°, enabling precise tracking and repositioning. Its ruggedised, all-weather construction supports operation in temperatures from –32 °C to +55 °C. Built-in electronics include an embedded web server for IP-based control, geo-positioning support for location targeting, and a Health and Usage Monitoring System for continuous status reporting. The platform is designed for defence, border surveillance, and critical infrastructure protection in demanding environments.

MPT-50 Camera System

The MPT-50 is engineered for medium-range surveillance missions where accurate target observation and dependable operation are essential. By combining a cooled MWIR thermal imager with a near-infrared sensitive day/night camera on a robust pan-tilt platform, the system supports 24/7 monitoring across challenging operational environments.

Its long-range zoom optics, embedded web-based control, geo-positioning functions, and integrated health monitoring make it well suited for border security, critical infrastructure protection, mobile surveillance, and defence applications.

FAQs

for MPT-50 Camera System

The MPT-50 integrates two cameras: a cooled mid-wave infrared (MWIR) thermal imaging sensor and a near-infrared sensitive day/night colour camera. This dual-sensor configuration supports both thermal detection and visible-spectrum imaging for around-the-clock surveillance.

The system is designed for medium-range surveillance and can observe targets several kilometres away, depending on atmospheric conditions and the target itself. Its thermal zoom optics up to 550 mm and visible zoom lens up to 800 mm provide the magnification needed for long-distance observation.

The MPT-50 offers repeatable positioning accuracy of approximately 0.05°. This high level of precision helps operators reliably return to a saved line of sight and maintain accurate tracking on distant targets.

The platform is built to support payloads of up to roughly 75 lbs (34 kg). This allows it to carry the integrated dual-camera package as well as additional equipment such as rangefinders or illuminators.

The MPT-50 supports remote control through its embedded web server as well as Ethernet and serial communication methods. It also supports Pelco-D alongside its native control protocol, making integration with existing surveillance software and controllers more straightforward.

HUMS is an onboard diagnostics feature that continuously monitors system status and usage data such as motor activity, temperature, and voltage. This information helps maintenance teams identify wear trends, plan preventive service, and improve overall system availability.

Yes. The MPT-50 can be deployed on fixed structures as well as mobile platforms such as vehicles and vessels. Its rugged construction, responsive command handling, and support for external GPS data make it suitable for surveillance in motion.

Yes. The system is ruggedised and environmentally sealed for use in demanding conditions including desert, maritime, wet, and cold climates. Its operating temperature range of –32 °C to +55 °C and available corrosion-resistant finishes help support long-term field performance.
