The PPDK 1100–1650 nm 6 GHz coaxial photodiode is a specialised InGaAs PIN photodetector designed for demanding fibre-optic analogue applications. It operates across all key telecom wavelengths (O- to L-band) and delivers an RF bandwidth of over 6 GHz, allowing it to carry broadband signals and high data-rate modulation with ease.
Housed in a hermetic coaxial package with a single-mode fibre pigtail, it provides a seamless interface between optical fibres and RF circuitry. The device’s high responsivity (~0.9 A/W at 1550 nm) enhances system sensitivity. Built for reliability, it endures harsh environmental conditions (–40 to +85 °C) and meets stringent telecom standards.

Range features
A high level overview of what this range offers
Wide wavelength range (1100 nm – 1650 nm) – Covers both 1310 nm and 1550 nm fibre bands for versatile use across telecom, broadband and CATV systems. High RF bandwidth (> 6 GHz) – Supports ultra-wideband analogue signal transmission without significant attenuation. High responsivity (0.85 A/W @ 1310 nm, 0.95 A/W @ 1550 nm) – Converts optical power to electrical current efficiently, yielding strong output signals. Low dark current (< 1 nA) – Contributes negligible noise when no light is present, allowing detection of very low optical signal levels. Hermetically sealed coaxial package – Protects the photodiode in a robust, airtight metal enclosure for high reliability and long service life.
Excellent linearity, low distortion – Optimised for analogue modulation with minimal signal distortion. Single-mode fibre pigtail with standard connectors – Integrated SMF-28 fibre pigtail simplifies coupling to optical networks. Wide operating temperature (–40 °C to +85 °C) – For use in outdoor installations and harsh environments.
