The FSAn-2D Ion Accelerator is a high-performance 2U flash storage array designed to deliver shared NVMe storage with very low latency and high throughput. It combines enterprise hardware with Ion Accelerator software to support demanding workloads such as databases, analytics, and other mission-critical applications. The platform provides 24 hot-swappable 2.5-inch NVMe drive bays in a compact rackmount chassis, enabling dense flash deployment and straightforward capacity expansion. Flexible connectivity options support Fibre Channel, Ethernet-based iSCSI, InfiniBand, and NVMe over Fabrics environments. The array is engineered for reliability with redundant power supplies, health monitoring, and high-availability deployment options. Its architecture is intended to provide performance close to direct-attached NVMe while remaining easy to integrate into existing data centre infrastructure.

Ion Accelerator is a flash storage software platform that manages the array’s NVMe SSDs with minimal overhead. It is designed to provide a highly optimised block storage engine for very low latency, high throughput, and strong data integrity, helping networked hosts access shared flash storage with performance close to local NVMe.

The FSAn-2D provides 24 hot-swappable 2.5-inch NVMe drive bays and supports up to 307 TB of capacity, depending on the installed SSD configuration. This makes it suitable for organisations that need both high performance and scalable flash density in a compact 2U footprint.

The platform supports high availability through a mirrored two-array configuration with synchronous replication. If one array becomes unavailable, the paired system can continue serving data. Redundant power supplies and system monitoring also help reduce single points of failure within each individual unit.

The FSAn-2D supports multiple host connectivity options, including Fibre Channel up to 32 Gbps, Ethernet/iSCSI up to 100 Gbps, InfiniBand up to 100 Gbps, plus NVMe over Fabrics using TCP/IP and RDMA. This flexibility allows deployment in FC SAN, IP SAN, and high-performance clustered environments.

This array is designed for ultra-low latency and very high throughput. According to the product datasheet, the platform supports sub 100 microseconds latency and over 5 million IOPS (4KB), making it well suited to demanding workloads such as databases, analytics, and other latency-sensitive enterprise applications.

The FSAn-2D includes built-in system health monitoring along with IPMI-based out-of-band management capabilities.
