The OEM FTIR modules are designed for system integrators or laboratories seeking a custom FTIR measurement solution. These modules can be seamlessly incorporated into existing instruments or experimental setups, offering flexible configuration options.

Two main configurations are available:

  • Fully integrated OEM module (OEM010): Includes an integrated light source and detector, ideal for compact and ready-to-use FTIR systems
  • Flexible OEM module (OEM011): Features a separate detector module, allowing maximum adaptability for specialised measurement setups

Both options provide precise and reproducible FTIR measurements across the NIR and MIR range and are built for reliable system integration.

OEM010 – Compact FTIR System for High-Precision Measurements

The OEM010 module is our most compact, fully integrated FTIR solution. A built-in, temperature-regulated SiC globar light source provides stable and uniform illumination, while the light is modulated by a permanently aligned interferometer. This design minimises the influence of stray light on the detector, ensuring accurate spectral measurements. The rugged housing also houses a TE-MCT detector, offering high sensitivity for precise acquisition of NIR and MIR spectra.

OEM011 – Modular and Adaptable for Custom Measurement Setups

The OEM011 module offers a flexible configuration for applications requiring tailored measurement setups. The main module includes the light source and interferometer, while the TE-MCT detector is located in a separate external module, ideal for integrating specialised sampling systems such as short-path gas cells or purged volumes. Both modules can be mounted on optical breadboards and accommodate 30 mm cage system rods, enabling rapid prototyping and straightforward integration into customised systems.

Operating Principle

FTIR OEM modules are designed for integration into advanced measurement configurations where a sampling system (such as a gas cell) is integrated into the optical path of the FTIR system between the interferometer and the detector. The modules can be easily mounted on a prototyping board (suitable accessories for attaching the modules to M6 breadboards with a standard grid size of 25 mm is available as an option); a schematic representation of the beam path is shown below. The IR beam coming out of the interferometer module has a diameter of 12.7 mm and a divergence of approx. 28 mrad (half angle). The detector module contains a parabolic mirror that focuses the light on the IR detector. the sampling system is placed between the FTIR-OEM000 interferometer module and the FTIR-OEM100 IR detector module, both of which can accommodate a 30 mm Cage system.

A software development kit, with examples in C, Labview and Matlab, is also supplied.
