These modular CCD spectrometers are versatile and can be used in applications such as industrial research laboratories, as well as among instrument manufacturers. With a wide array of available detectors, cooling options, gratings and entrance slits, alongside a broad selection of accessories, they can be tailored to meet the specific needs of various applications. The powerful electronics also support the synchronisation of measurements with other devices and are characterised by a very low time delay (jitter).
- Spectral range of 200 to 1050 nm
- Compact and modular design
- High quantum efficiency in the UV range
Application areas include photoluminescence, Raman spectroscopy, photometric and radiometric measurements of light sources (LEDs, OLEDs, solar cells), as well as transmission and reflection measurements.

FAQs
for Compact UV-VIS-NIR Spectrometers
The SM303 is designed for applications requiring a very high signal-to-noise ratio and a wide dynamic range, such as fluorescence, Raman, and diffuse reflection. It offers extremely low dark noise and stray light, high UV quantum efficiency, and a high data acquisition speed.
The SM445 features a wide spectral range (up to 200 – 1050nm), high optical resolution through a 3K-array CCD, extremely short exposure times up to 10µsec, a compact and modular design, and a new UV-enhancing coating that increases UV sensitivity below 450nm compared to conventional UV coatings.
The SM642 offers high quantum efficiency in the UV range and a wide dynamic range, making it optimal for UV/VIS/NIR spectrometry with a high signal-to-noise ratio or high dynamic range. The back-thinned CCD technology allows for excellent sensitivity in the deep UV range, even below 200nm.
Spectral Products offer a wide selection of UV/VIS/NIR and NIR/MIR detectors (regular and back-thinned/TE-cooled) as well as useful accessories for their application. The SM series of spectrometers is based on a crossed Czerny-Turner configuration and is designed for stable operation across a wide range of ambient temperatures. The choice of detector should be matched to the specific requirements of the application, with sensors such as the Sony ILX511, Toshiba TCD1304, Hamamatsu S7031-1006, and others available.
