Magnetics’ ultra-low-loss powder core material, Kool Mµ® Ultra, is an optimal solution for demanding telecom and datacom applications. Kool Mµ Ultra offers the best of both worlds: core losses approaching ferrite levels while retaining the key advantages of powder cores—soft saturation, stable performance at high temperatures, and elimination of gap fringing losses.
Its DC bias is superior to standard Kool Mµ and comparable to Kool Mµ Hƒ, yet core losses are nearly 30% lower than Kool Mµ Hƒ. Kool Mµ Ultra is currently available in 26µ, 40µ, and 60µ toroids, and in 26µ and 40µ E cores, U cores, blocks, and cylinders.
