Advanced current transformers for precise measurement

Current transformers (CTs) convert the primary section’s current into a measurable signal on the secondary side, typically resulting in a voltage signal via a burden resistor.

This technology is primarily used to measure or detect AC current at various frequencies. Depending on the application, CTs may need to measure currents with an overlapping DC component. Frequencies can range from a few Hz to 20kHz due to switch-mode operations.

Typical applications include, Residual Current Devices (RCD), electric grid surveillance and maintenance, watt-hour meters, electric vehicle chargers, solar inverters, and UPS systems.

We offer diverse solutions based on industrial magnetic cores and mechanical construction. Leveraging our extensive experience with nanocrystalline soft magnetic cores, we assist customers in developing their own CTs or RCDs by selecting the appropriate materials. Additionally, we design and manufacture custom CTs and RCDs according to customer specifications.
