OFS fibre optic cabling solutions for avionics are designed for high reliability in challenging conditions, with long lifetime performance, high strength, light weight, and for wide operating temperature ranges.
The range includes FlightLinx® for use in commercial aircraft meeting the requirements of ARINC 802, Appendix C (MGT), FlightGuide® designed for military aircraft with a high performance carbon/silicone coating, Avioptics® using HCS® to allow crimp and cleave termination of connectors, and FlightLinx® PLUS for inflight entertainment-networking and displays.
The µLinx® range is well suited for unmanned environments delivering high strength, high reliability in a lightweight cable design.

Range features
A high level overview of what this range offers
- In addition to the Avioptics range of fibres for sensing applications in avionics, the LineaSens® products deliver excellent optical performance in applications such as monitoring composite structures (aircraft wings)
- Further applications for avionics cables include aircraft fiber optic sensors and laser power delivery
- For navigation applications such as fiber optic gyroscopes (FOG), a further range of products branded as GyroSil® or erbium-doped fibers delivering both reliability and safety in this critical environment
- µLinx cable has passed the FAR 25.869 60° burn test and the Boeing flame, smoke and toxicity tests defined in ARINC 802
- Special PFA and ETFE buffer/jacket materials provide excellent abrasion and/or chemical resistance properties
- Flight communication applications include in-flight entertainment and networking, display and cabin systems, navigation, communication systems and data transmission
- FlightLinx PLUS allows for pull-proof termination for spring loaded connectors due to loose-structure cable construction
