The Photron fastcam Mini series comprises of cameras in a compact housing which can be used in the lab, but also in high-g environments, for instance, on-board car crash tests. Many Photron Mini cameras are fitted to microscope systems for studying macro/microscopic phenomena.
Within this series, different sensor models are available. They range from the high resolution 4-megapixel WX model to the 1-megapixel AX optimised for high speed and light sensitivity. The entry-level UX model offers a good combination of frame rate and sensitivity. A specialty model with onboard backup memory storage is also available in the CX model.
The UX, WX, and AX mini share the same outer dimensions and mounting points, which makes changing between cameras very easy.
Images are stored in internal RAM memory during recording and can be downloaded via the Gigabit Ethernet connection. Different RAM storage size versions are available.
