MMC Series Magnetic Sensors

MEMSIC magnetic sensors use the anisotropic magnetoresistance (AMR) effect. When metals or semiconductors encounter an external magnetic field, the resistance value will change with the size of the external magnetic field. This phenomenon is called the magnetoresistance effect. AMR is the next generation of magnetic sensors after Hall

The resistors connected in a Wheatstone bridge are used to measure the angles. Each component resistor contributes to a change in the differential output voltage of the bridge, depending on the X, Y, or Z field direction in the sensor plane.

The typical applications are for electronic compass, GPS navigation, positioning, but it can also be used as a presence sensor e.g vehicle detection in a car parking application
