Wavelength Technology’s eye-safe mini laser rangefinder modules are used to measure the target distance and can send the distance information to the host computer. The device employs a time-of-flight principle in which a laser pulse is sent towards the target and the distance is determined based on the total time taken for the laser pulse to leave the device and get reflected off the target.
The main characteristics of the laser rangefinder include easy operation, compact design, light weight, and is customisable. These laser rangefinder modules belong to the eye-safe category, making them ideal for integration inside lig-range handheld surveillance cameras. The small and stable mechanical structure enables the modules to be lighter, smaller, and more stable to match most demanding low SWaP applications like integration on a mini-drone.
