Cobalt (Co)-Amorphous Cores
- Technology
- Amorphous cores

- Toshiba
Cobalt-based ribbon material with low coercivity offers the best soft magnetic properties among amorphous and nanocrystalline materials. By adapted manufacturing methods, Toshiba’s cores with rectangular hysteresis loop can be produced for switching applications (saturable cores, MagAmps) or applications with extremely steep B(H) characteristics (AMOBEADSTM, SPIKE KILLERTM for noise suppression). Alternatively, with linear loop providing high permeability around 100,000 and extremely low coercivity, remanence and losses, they are perfect for signal or pulse transformers. These cores are available with optional standard winding, making them ideal for key applications, including noise-sensitive equipment, switched-mode power supplies, and medical instruments.
