OFS Crimp & Cleave system of terminating fibres and cables in field without the need for epoxy or polish creates a simple and fast method of terminating Step-Index (SI) HCS and GiHCS without the need for special training or expensive equipment.
The Crimp and Cleave technology can replace traditional methods requiring long curing (7 mins) or crimp and pre-polish that use high-priced connectors, index matching gels and complex steps of installation.
The Crimp and Cleave process from OFS to fully terminate a cable takes minutes to learn and after a short acclimatisation to just how simple this installation is, allows connectorisation is approximately one minute.
Suitable for harsh, industrial installations such as factory floor.

- Crimp & Cleave termination kits include crimp tool, cable stripper, diamond cleave tool, scissors, fibre stripper, brush, plastic fibre disposal container, and wipes
- The process does not require power, just simple hand-held tools with no consumables or wastage, just a super simple workflow
- Connectors designed for wide operating temperature ranges with low insertion losses due to consistent end face quality
- By crimping directly to the fibre HCS coating, the cable crimp retention force is very high (> 22 N for LC)
- LC connectors fully compatible with industry standard SFP transceivers for Fast and Gigabit Ethernet
- Special Harsh Environment (HE) 1.8 mm SMA 905 connectors for step-index 200/230 µm HCS
- The OFS F07 connector system is a JIS (Japanese Industrial Standard) compatible crimp and cleave termination solution
