The Firecomms Plastic Optical Fibre (POF) cable assemblies are available in custom length configurations to meet exact application specific requirements. For convenience, several standard lengths are available from stock too.
Both simplex and duplex versions are supported for the RedLink range.
These cable assemblies are typically used in transport, medical, industrial, energy / power transmission, drive control, robotics, and many more enabling rugged, cost-effective reliable optical links.

- Used for control of high-voltage electrical switching equipment
- POF is a cost-efficient alternative to other glass fibres whilst maintaining the performance requirements of hostile environments
- Ideally suited for linking equipment where voltage potential / electrical isolation must be maintained
- Immunity to EMI hence particularly suitable in motor and drives industrial environments
- Industrial operating temperature range -40 to 85°C
- Very durable with a high number of mating cycles, minimum 500
- Good cable assembly tolerances during production
- Fully compatible with Versatile Link transmitters and receivers
