Legacy embedded computing solutions & obsolescence support
Keep proven systems running with legacy embedded computing
We help you extend the useful life of your systems by combining embedded computing expertise with a strong network of strategic partners. Our goal is simple: keep proven platforms running safely and reliably, while giving you sensible paths to modernise when it makes business sense.
Using COTS, modular hardware lets you manage product changes and obsolescence over a long lifecycle. Many technologies are mature and, in some cases, have been superseded by newer designs. We recognise the time and cost invested in deployed equipment, so where possible we continue to supply parts and compatible replacements that keep legacy applications in service.

What we support
- Processor families: Intel®, PowerPC® and QorIQ™ across a range of legacy and current platforms.
- VME single-board computers: Expandable with daughter cards (mezzanine modules) to add interfaces such as FPGA, graphics, communications and aircraft databus. Options include IndustryPack (IP) as well as common mezzanine formats like PMC and XMC.
- ETX modules: Although largely replaced by COM Express, ETX remains widely used in industrial, transport and medical systems built around low-power SoCs such as Intel® Atom®. Our current products preserve legacy I/O (e.g., ISA/PCI) while bridging to newer high-speed interconnects where required.
Why it matters
- With our embedded computing legacy support, you can:
- Prolong asset life without a risky full redesign.
- Maintain certified software and documentation, reducing re-validation effort.
- Introduce targeted upgrades only where they add value—performance, storage or connectivity—while keeping proven mechanics and interfaces in place.
If you need to stabilise a fielded platform or plan a stepwise upgrade, we will help you choose the most practical route—keeping downtime low and total cost of ownership under control.
