The Acromag BusWorks® NT Series delivers a modular, rugged, and Ethernet-based remote I/O platform for industrial automation, distributed control systems, building & process monitoring, and Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) applications. These remote I/O modules let you add analogue, discrete, temperature, or multi-function I/O points over an Ethernet network using common industrial protocols — all with web-based configuration and high-performance communications.
The BusWorks NT Series brings cost-efficient, expandable remote I/O over Ethernet with flexibility, modern protocol support, and rugged reliability — all accessible via web configuration and scalable under a single IP address. Whether you’re capturing analogue sensor data, driving control signals, or combining mixed I/O types with IIoT readiness, the NT range offers a future-ready remote I/O platform for industrial networks.
Each NT module supports Modbus TCP/IP, EtherNet/IP, and PROFINET (field-selectable) and features an integrated expansion bus that lets you add multiple NTX I/O expansion units under a single IP address, reducing network complexity and hardware costs.

Range features
A high level overview of what this range offers
-
Ethernet-Based Remote I/O Communication – Connect I/O over standard Ethernet with support for Modbus TCP/IP, EtherNet/IP, and PROFINET — field-selectable without extra hardware.
-
Expandable I/O Architecture – NT modules include an integrated expansion bus that allows up to three NTX expansion I/O modules on each Ethernet port, providing up to dozens of mixed analogue and digital signals under one IP.
-
Dual RJ45 Network Ports – Most modules provide dual 10/100 Mbps Ethernet ports for network redundancy or daisy-chain topology.
-
Built-in Configuration & Diagnostics – A built-in web server lets you configure network settings, I/O parameters, and diagnostics from any browser without dedicated software.
-
Rugged Industrial Design – NT Series modules are engineered for harsh environments with operating temperatures typically –40 °C to +70 °C, high noise immunity, and industrial approvals including UL Class 1 Div. 2 and ATEX/IECEx Zone 2 (pending) for hazardous locations.
-
IIoT Integration Support – Modules can support OPC UA server, MQTT client, and RESTful APIs for modern IoT data exchange and cloud connectivity.
-
Peer-to-Peer & Conditional Logic – The i2o® peer-to-peer messaging lets modules exchange data without a master controller, and built-in logic lets I/O respond to rules (e.g., IF/THEN/ELSE) for simple local processing.
-
Mixed Signal Support – Choose modules tailored for analogue inputs, outputs, discrete digital I/O, thermocouples, RTDs, or multi-function I/O combinations to suit a wide range of industrial signals.
