The EMB-LR1280S is a compact, ultra-low power OEM module based on Semtech’s SX1280 2.4 GHz long-range transceiver and STM32L073 MCU. It delivers robust, long-range wireless communication with high interference immunity, leveraging Semtech’s proprietary spread spectrum modulation.
Operating in the globally license-free 2.4 GHz ISM band—with no duty cycle restrictions—the module supports higher transmission speeds compared to sub-GHz solutions. It integrates up to 192 KB Flash and 20 KB RAM, dual crystals (52 MHz and 32 KHz), and a crypto unit for secure data handling.
With support for UART, SPI, I²C, USB, I²S, and multiple I/Os, the EMB-LR1280S offers design flexibility. Its ultra-low power profile makes it ideal for battery-powered devices. It can function as an embedded microcontroller system or a data modem.
Preloaded with LoRaEMB and LoRa® 2.4 GHz stacks, the module supports point-to-point and star topologies, and is fully compliant with Semtech’s LoRa® 2.4 GHz specifications. Firmware development is supported via the Embit SDK, with quick prototyping enabled by the EMB-LR1280-EVK kit.
