SFF transceivers comply with the Multiple Supplier Agreement (MSA) for either 2×5 or 2×10 pinning. The 2×7 pin layout follows the 2×5 MSA with an additional four pins that provide access to the digital diagnostic and rate select functions.
The transceivers use a single 3.3 V power supply and industry standard LVPECL for data transmission and TTL levels for control/indication with respect to Transmitter Disable or Signal Detect functionality.
The mini-SFF follows a 1×8 pinning footprint in a plastic package with metal shielding for excellent EMI performance in a miniature package.
