QSFP+ Transceivers for Video Applications

This QSFP+ transceiver pair has been designed specifically for 4K60Hz video transmission using quad-OSA optics developed and manufactured by Coretek’s in-house engineering expertise.

The electrical signal from a video source, for example HDMI 2.0 or Display Port 1.2, is converted into an optical signal using four laser diode drivers and four CWDM lasers, which are then multiplexed together to allow connection onto a single fibre using an LC connector. After transmission over a maximum of 10 km, the optical signal is de-multiplexed and using four PIN-TIAs and post amplifiers the electrical signal is converted back into the original video signal.

A separate bi-directional optical fibre link at 2.5 Gb/s allows transmission of control signals.
