Bi-directional (Bi-Di) transceivers allow a physical capacity doubling of existing installed legacy single mode fibre links. Using special Bi-directional Optical Sub Assembly (BOSA) components inside of the transceivers, which combine both laser, photodiode and WDM filter in one assembly, the transceivers are then connectorised using a single LC, single SC, or pigtailed connector of choice.
The transceivers other follow standards such as Ethernet or SDH/SONET and comply to Multiple Supplier Agreement (MSA) dictating mechanical and optical/electrical characteristics.
Product customisation is very common with a fast turn-around from idea to finished product, varying wavelengths, pigtails or adding functionality.

Range features
A high level overview of what this range offers
- Digital Diagnostic Monitoring Interface (DDMI) supported on many models providing real-time information on optical power, transceiver temperature and voltage levels
- A single connector simplifies installation, by using just one single fibre the cable install and termination time is dramatically reduced
- Special versions to include pigtailed 1×9, single Tx and single Rx
- Industrial temperature range -40 to 85°C supported on many versions
- Unique designs for broadcast video 3G-SDI in 1×9, SFP and QSFP+ form factors
- Supporting both single mode (SM) and custom designs for multi-mode (MM) fiber
- Non-standard wavelength combinations available upon request
- 2×9 pinning with DDMI available for Fast Ethernet and Gigabit Ethernet applications
