TOSA components from Coretek Opto. are highly reliable laser diode or LED (Light Emitting Diode) devices packaged in a hermetically sealed assembly.
Laser diodes are available as Fabry Perot (FP), Distributed Feed-Back (DFB), VCSEL (Vertical Cavity Surface Emitting Laser), and Coarse Wavelength Division Multiplexing (CWDM) types. Typically, FP, DFB and CWDM are aligned for coupling into Single Mode (SM) fibers but can also be otherwise aligned for Multi-Mode (MM) fibers as for VCSEL and LED components.
Typical packaging options include LC, SC, ST, and FC, both barrel and receptacle types, with custom packaging solutions offered.

- Optical output power ranges are Laser Class 1 compliant and are application, wavelength, and technology specific
- Standard pin-out for TO-Can and receptacle type with custom options available upon request
- Laser diode variants typically include a InGaAs PIN Monitor Diode (MD) for laser control
- Operating voltages and bias levels follow communication standards for discrete components
