Versatile Link – RedLink® Simplex Latching Plugs
- Technology
- Fibre optic cables, connectors and assemblies
- Partner
- Firecomms
The simplex latching plug is particularly suitable for applications demanding a good retention force such as high vibration environments. By simply applying a little pressure to the rear of the plug releases the latching mechanism.
Simple installation onto 2.2 mm Plastic Optical Fiber (POF) using industry standard tools. By following four easy steps, the plus can be fitted by electrical engineer without special training in optics:
- Strip jacket from cable using Firecomms POF cutter (PC-220F-410)
- Insert stripped POF into connector plug
- Crimp the plug onto the cable using crimp tool (FF-HTCRMP-1)
- Polish the fiber using polishing disc and paper (two steps, grit grades).
