BOSA components from Coretek Opto. consist typically of a single Laser Diode (LD), a Wavelength Division Multiplexer (WDM filter, and a single Photodiode (PD) An optical isolator can be used together with the laser diode to improve performance necessary to meet certain industry standards.
Standard receptacle types such as SC and LC, but also adaptor types for direct faceplate mounting are available.
Standard wavelength combinations such as 1310/1550, 1310/1490, 1610/1550, 1270/1330, 1577/1310, 1270/1577 are available as standard with other wavelength combinations upon request (dependent on WDM filter availability).
Range features

- Applications include SONET/SDH, Ethernet/Fibre Channel, Fiber Optic Sensing, Test and Measurement (T&M), and Instrumentation, Passive Optical Networking (PON), and HDMI
- Possibility to include analogue PD for use in receiving downstream signals in a CATV application
- For space restricted applications, the mini-BOSA package, which is typically used in products such as SCFP and CSFP+, can be made available
- -40 to 85 °C operating temperature range for industrial applications fully qualified to Telcordia standards
- Triple, and quad combinations of transmitter and receivers inside one package are available, application specific, therefore customised based on specific wavelength and data rates
- Packaging with standard pinning configurations or using flex-PCBs, especially at higher data rates
- Both Single Mode (SM) and Multi-Mode (MM) types available
