Interview with Jeff Moris, Outside Sales Manager at Acal BFi

With over two decades of experience and deep technical expertise, Jeff is not only an Outside Sales Manager but also a true connector between technology and customers. This interview gives you a closer look at his journey, his passion for innovation, and the impact he makes every day.

Jeff, can you tell us how your journey with Acal BFi began?

I joined Acal BFi back in February 2001, starting as an outside sales representative. I mainly focused on our Belgian customers at the time. Just a year later, I moved into a product manager role. Over the years, I have held several positions — from account manager to sales manager, and now I specialize in sensors and interconnect solutions.

What sparked your interest in sales, considering your technical background?

A: I have always had a strong technical foundation, thanks to my background in electronics and engineering. But during my previous roles, I discovered the dynamic nature of sales. I enjoyed the direct interaction with customers and realized I could combine my technical expertise with sales to provide real value. That is what steered me toward a more commercial focus in my career.

How has your role evolved at Acal BFi?

My role has always been diverse. I work on technical analyses, product advice, and building long-term relationships with customers. I have worked with clients across sectors, including industrial and medical, and have helped launch various technical projects. I really appreciate the autonomy here — I can manage my own time, whether that means working from the office, visiting clients, attending events, or traveling abroad.

What do you find most exciting about your work?

I love the dynamic environment. With technologies like wireless sensors and IoT becoming more prominent, there is always something new to learn and implement. Customer engagement is another key aspect for me. Many of my clients keep coming back, and I believe that reflects their trust in Acal BFi’s technical expertise and our focus on service.

Can you share a few projects you’re particularly proud of?

Definitely. One project I worked on for two years involved developing ventilation systems, which highlighted how we can combine technical know-how with customer support. I was also involved in delivering pressure sensors used in braces for continuous blood pressure monitoring, a real benefit for the healthcare sector. Another project involved creating a product line of sensors in different materials — plastic, metal, and hybrid — that can be interconnected. It really showcases the versatility of the products we work with.

What keeps you motivated after all these years?

The opportunity to grow and evolve. I still aim to deepen my expertise in complex product categories like sensors and interconnect solutions. Acal BFi gives me the chance to respond to changing market demands and develop new solutions for our customers. What makes it special for me is the combination of deep technical knowledge, endless possibilities within the company, and the strong personal relationships with customers and suppliers. That is what makes every day meaningful.
