Thermische Beschleunigungsmesser verwenden einen proprietären, patentierten Ansatz ohne bewegliche Teile. Sie sind hochzuverlässig, leicht zu fertigen und äußerst kostengünstig. Die Komponenten integrieren führende Sensortechnologie mit Mischsignalelektronik in ein Ein-Chip-Design unter Verwendung des CMOS-IC-Prozesses.
Die Schlüsseltechnologie ist die Verwendung eines erhitzten Gases als ‘Proof Mass’, was eine vernachlässigbare Empfindlichkeit gegenüber hochfrequenten Vibrationen (z. B. Motorvibrationen in Automobilanwendungen), hohe Toleranz gegenüber Stressänderungen und einen sehr niedrigen Zero-G-Offset ermöglicht.
Thermische MEMS-Beschleunigungsmesser werden in vielen bewährten Anwendungen in Konsumgütern, industriellen und automobilen Sicherheitsprodukten eingesetzt.
