Speed and magnetic sensors

Speed and magnetic sensors

Usually consisting of two offset Hall Effect sensors, these generate a voltage that can vary according to the magnetic flux that passes through it creating two alternating signals. These signals are subtracted, and interference is filtered to give an amplified, calibrated single signal.

Our portfolio also covers a range of magnetometers for higher sensitivity and accuracy for applications requiring a more stable performance.

Widely used within harsh environments such as aerospace, automotive/transportation and precision mechanical or engineering applications, our range of accurate hall-effect sensors are designed to easily minimise wear-and-tear, measure both motion outputs and either rotational or linear speed sensor and direction with reliability and longevity.

Advantages

  • Non-contact – which means they are resistant to wearing and failure
  • Low noise
  • Stable and repeatable
  • Unlimited lifespan
  • Temperature sensor ranges of up to 125°C
  • Low maintenance
  • Robust – they are immune to vibration, dust and water
  • Offering customisable angle and electrical outputs ideal for automotive gearbox, throttle and suspension applications.

Rotary Hall Effect speed sensors

We offer a competitive package ideally suited for robust and harsh environment applications. Featuring an IP68 sealing and an operating temperature of up to 150°C, the main sensor housing is manufactured from high-grade temperature resistant plastic with anodised aluminium alloy mounting.

With redundant output, these compact and fully non-contacting Hall Effect sensors will perfectly suit arduous high-duty cycle position feedback applications.

These also offer programmable angle selections and a choice of U-shaft, D-shaft and spring coupling mounting options as standard as well as numerous input and output options. The CRSS version also offers the capability to have bespoke mounting from 32mm upwards in any stud configuration, which may be customised to exactly suit your application.

Key features:

  • Customisable mounting and shaft
  • Hall Effect sensors non-contacting technology
  • Form, U, D shaft and spring coupling drive shaft as standard
  • Long-life - extremely robust
  • Programmable angles from 30Âş up to 360Âş
  • IP68 protection
  • Redundant output

Offering a cost-effective, low MoQ option with short lead times, please contact us for more information.

We also stock a range of magnetic sensor technology and magnetometers that can also be used for proximity, velocity and directional movement detection sensing. These are becoming more popular due to their benefits above standard potentiometers as they are non-contact, have a virtually unlimited life and are resistant to wearing and failure.

This range brings you sensor solutions that are high accuracy, more stable, lower noise and are perfect for applications such as Industrial (motion control, current sensing, displacement) medical equipment, motor control, and consumer appliances.

To meet any specific needs, you may have a number of custom designs are possible and custom packages and over moulded housings and various termination types (wire length, wire insulation, connectors).
