Introducing the fastest Multi-Wavelength Meter available on the market, Bristol Instruments’ new 438 Series

438 Series Multi-Wavelength MeterBristol Instruments, the leader in optical wavelength measurement instrumentation, has announced the new 438 Series Multi-Wavelength Meter.

The 438 delivers high accuracy, fast measurement rate, straightforward operation in a rugged design, to measure the wavelength, power, and OSNR of as many as 1000 discrete optical signals. The 438 Multi-Wavelength Meter provides the most precise, reliable and efficient WDM wavelength testing available to meet the needs of the most demanding applications. Wavelength is measured to an accuracy as high as ± 0.3 pm, power is measured to an accuracy of ± 0.5 dB, and OSNR is automatically calculated to greater than 40 dB.

A measurement rate of 10 Hz enables a reduction in wavelength testing times resulting in greater manufacturing productivity. Proven Michelson interferometer-based technology is combined with fast Fourier transform analysis. The model 438 also boasts a broad operational wavelength range of 1000 to 1680 nm, which covers all optical communications bands.
