Introducing M from Magnetics® – the new ferrite with 50% increased permeability
Developed by one of the world’s leading suppliers of precision soft magnetic materials and components, Magnetics’ new M material pushes the boundaries of ferrite class materials with a permeability of 15,000µ, one of the highest permeabilities available for ferrite materials.
M material is brand new and was designed by Magnetics for optimum impedance performance across frequency ranges. Using M, designers can create more compact, higher performance solutions.
Magnetics proactively develops new materials by working closely with customers and understanding the ever changing needs of the market. With a curie temperature of up to 130°C, flux density of 470mT (4,700 G at 15 Oe, 25°C), resistivity of 0.5Ωm and maximum usable frequency of 120kHz, M is ideally suited to signal, choke and filter applications. This includes common mode chokes, EMI suppression filters, signal processing, and broadband transformers.
Reduce the size of your design whilst increasing performance
High permeability ferrite materials provide superior loss factor, frequency response, resistance to high frequencies, temperature performance and product consistency. With higher permeability, designers can reduce the size of their design and number of turns whilst maintaining or improving overall performance.
M material is available in toroid sizes from 3.94mm to 25.3mm OD. M further extends Magnetics’ range of high-permeability ferrite materials including existing J and W ferrite materials, each with permeabilities of 5,000µ and 10,000µ respectively. The new M material provides a 50% increase in permeability over Magnetics’ previous highest performing ferrite, W material.
